& BEYOND
The work beyond the notes
You can play.
Now build a
music career.
Bridge the gap between what you learn in music school and what professional life asks of you.
Broadway Bound and Beyond connects your playing to the preparation, relationships, and business decisions that help you get hired and keep working.
By Clayton Craddock · Musician, author & educator

From practice to professional life
The notes are only part of the job.
You can spend years developing your playing and still wonder: Who makes the calls? How do you prepare to sub? What happens when a show closes?
This book brings those questions into focus through lessons from Broadway, touring, and a life in music. So you can approach the next opportunity with a clearer understanding of the work.

The book draws on theater experience, but its discussions of professionalism, trust, and sustaining a career are relevant to musicians considering many kinds of work.
